Why the gender pay gap exists across the UK, not just at the BBC

The pay gap isn’t just a BBC phenomenon. On average, a British man takes home about 18pc more per hour worked than his female counterpart. He also starts working earlier in life and ends later, leaving him with a bigger pension at the end of it too.

Gender warriors tend to leave the analysis there before placing the blame squarely on male prejudice for failing to recognise female brilliance.
